Introducing Michael Iber, Academic Director for E³UDRES² at the University of Applied Sciences St. Pölten. As the Academic Director, Michael Iber has been responsible for integrating E³UDRES² into teaching at the St. Pölten UAS since the beginning of this year. In this talk, he shares what his further tasks are all about, what's particularly important to him, and what objective he pursues in his role.
What is your task as the Academic Director?
In my role, I both represent the St. Pölten UAS' interests in front of E³UDRES² and I take over the task of bringing forward our concerns with regard to teaching in the best possible way. I am also in charge of integrating the contents and formats which are developed within the alliance into our teaching activities. By developing the “Window of Opportunity“, the colleagues from LEARN have offered the students a “playground" for extracurricular topics within their regular studies – and it is of great importance to me to include contents of E³UDRES² to allow students to adopt perspectives outside of disciplinary boundaries.
What is your wish for the current phase 2?
That we succeed in convincing everybody who studies, teaches, does research, or works in administration here on campus of the enormous potential of E³UDRES². Of course, this can be made possible mainly by motivating as many colleagues as possible to participate and become active in our range of activities. In – not only my – opinion, the European University is an important step that prepares us for future challenges. And this even extends to topics beyond predicted demographic developments and the regional, national, and European labour markets.
