DEVELOPING SMART & SUSTAINABLE REGIONS

The Open Innovation Hub (OIH) for Smart & Sustainable Cities, Regions & Villages at Vidzeme UAS is one of nine OIHs in the E³UDRES² alliance.

Vidzeme Open Innovation Hub (VAIC) is developed within Vidzeme UAS together with the regional authority Vidzeme Planning Region. VAIC aims to develop the knowledge and innovation ecosystem of the Vidzeme region.

VAIC has taken a course towards the development of the region, being the middle point where solutions are created through studies, research and innovation activities and sustainable changes are promoted in the Vidzeme region. The hub promotes entrepreneurial thinking in the community, integrating challenges in the study process, organizes and participates in entrepreneurship activities, as well as offering services within the competence of Vidzeme UAS researchers, cooperation partners and students.

Working together

Developing a strong culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing among stakeholders, incl. entrepreneurs, researchers, public sector, academia

Learning together

Increase stakeholders' competences and understanding of innovation and knowledge processes

Shaping policies

Contribute to the rationalisation of innovation and knowledge policies

International exchange

Strengthen the role of Vidzeme UAS at the regional and international innovation ecosystem, position Vidzeme's innovativeness internationally

What is an Open Innovation Hub?

The Open Innovation Hubs in E³UDRES² serve as collaborative platforms where companies, entrepreneurs, researchers, students, and other stakeholders come together to share resources, knowledge, and expertise to foster innovation. The OIHs aim to serve as a bridge between various stakeholders, creating connections, and bringing the right people together.

Additionally, the E³UDRES² OIHs offer networking events, trainings, and other programs to support the development of new ideas and ventures.
