Open Innovation Hub

Wellbeing and Future Industries

PUTTING WELLBEING FIRST through research and collaboration

The Open Innovation Hub (OIH) for Wellbeing and Future Industries at Jamk UAS is one of nine OIHs in the E³UDRES² alliance.

The manufacturing industry plays a crucial role in the economy of Central Finland. Over the past few decades, it has undergone significant transformations. Production philosophies like Industry 4.0 have taken hold, new materials and technologies have emerged, globalization impacts even the smallest companies, and digital transformation is evident across all sectors. Cooperation, co-creation, and innovation are essential.

For People, With People

The industry exists for people. People are the final link in the value chain and arguably the most critical factor in competitiveness for both public and private sectors. Employees must be fit and adaptable. The shift from physical labour to cognitive tasks requires workers to continuously learn, rethink, unlearn, and be ready to upskill and reskill.

The Role of Industry Renewal and the Sport, Health, and Wellbeing Innovation Hub

The primary aim of the innovation hub is to focus on human well-being within the renewing industry. It seeks to enhance competitiveness through the well-being and happiness of people, supported by new technological products, methods, and solutions. Preventive health and well-being are central, benefiting both individuals and society. Physical activity, multidisciplinary rehabilitation, and lifelong career planning skills are vital components of this process.
