Building on existing experience
This new position aligns closely with the practical experience Saxion already has with HEInnovate, including through EIT HEI projects. In this new role, Vera de Ruiter will contribute to:
Developing HEInnovate further through dedicated Working Groups.
Delivering training sessions and events.
Raising awareness and expanding the reach of HEInnovate.
Sharing practical examples and user stories.
Saxion previously contributed to one of the first published case studies, which focused on the YOSHI project. The YOSHI Programme is an international, 13-week course (starting October 19, 2026) that guides students through launching their own business or side hustle. Guided by experienced lecturers and entrepreneurs, students learn to validate market ideas, budget, and master modern tools like SEO, AI, and influencer marketing.

This involvement brings clear benefits to the wider educational community and regional partners. HEInnovate can support events and initiatives organized within the network, providing extra backing for joint activities.
Looking ahead, this role brings long-term value to European cooperation. Because HEInnovate connects directly with Erasmus+, having a direct link helps strengthen future European grant applications. It also offers a practical way to support E³UDRES², expand international networks, and show the real-world impact of shared regional work.
This new position will help foster innovation and entrepreneurship across Saxion, the E³UDRES² alliance, and partner institutions throughout Europe.
